Dance Video Project | Weekend Edition – Dancehall Queenstyle with Eve Jamami 28.2.–1.3.2026

Welcome to Eve “JaMami” Vuorenmaa’s dancehall queenstyle dance video project at Shenanigans Studio! During this one-weekend project, you will rehearse and film a dance piece choreographed and directed by Eve. And best of all — this video project is intended for dancers of different levels — beginners as well as intermediate and advanced dancers! 😍

On the first day of the project, training takes place in two separate groups (beginners & intermediate/advanced, 3 hours per group). During rehearsals, the focus is on developing the choreography and practicing performance skills and camera work. The second day begins with a joint rehearsal for both groups to review the choreography, after which the final video piece will be filmed. Participants will receive the finished video as a keepsake after the project.

“Which group should I choose?”

Choose the beginners group if you have only a small amount of dance experience or have never danced dancehall queenstyle before. For example, you may have attended a beginner course in another dance style, or you may be returning to dance after a longer break. We do expect beginners-group dancers to have some prior dance experience, so the project is not suitable for complete beginners.

Choose the intermediate/advanced group if dancehall queenstyle is a familiar style to you, or if you have actively trained in another dance style for several years.

If you want to get the most out of the project and the experience, you are also welcome to join both groups!

Saturday schedule
11:00–14:00 (3h) Beginners group rehearsal
14:30–17:30 (3h) Intermediate/advanced group rehearsal

Sunday schedule
11:00–15:00 (4h) Review & video filming (entire group)

Location: Shenanigans Studio, Tarkk’ampujankatu 1, 20540 Turku

Price: €100 / one group or €150 for both groups – the price includes the project and usage rights to the finished video.

Eve “JaMami” Vuorenmaa

Eve is a long-time street dance instructor who specializes in teaching the extremely popular dancehall style, in which she is considered one of the leading professionals in Finland. In addition to teaching, Eve leads the popular JaMam’s Cats dance group. She is one of the most in-demand dancehall teachers in the country and has taught workshops all around Finland. Eve is an encouraging, gentle, detail-oriented, and pedagogically skilled instructor.

Dancehall Queenstyle

Dancehall Queenstyle is an energetic and confidence-filled dance style rooted in Jamaican dancehall culture. Characteristic movements of the style include, for example, wine, shake, drop, split, and various acrobatic movements.
